Football: Is Tottenham’s Harry Kane really going to Manchester United

Is Harry Kane really going to Manchester United. Though Louis van
Gaal has plenty of reason to lose his appetite considering Wayne
Rooney’s wane. United are prepared to stump up almost £50m to sign
another England striker showing patchy form, last Sunday’s Artur
Boruc-aided hat-trick aside, yet continue with playing an in-form £36m
centre-forward on the  When Liverpool fans are asked which Borussia
Dortmund player they would like Jürgen Klopp to lure away from
north-west Germany, Neven Subotic is unlikely to be the first. The
Serbian centre-half is, however, shaping up to move having fallen out of
favour at the Westfalenstadion and Klopp is interested. In other
exciting news Klopp wants to bring Suárez to Anfield! But not Luis.
Instead the manager wants to take Mario Suárez Merseyside. The
28-year-old midfielder has been stuck on the bench at Fiorentina in
recent weeks and after taking in the cathedral and Uffizi gallery has
grown bored of his surroundings and wants to bid arrivederci. It would
certainly be a “cool deal”.  Another player fed up with Serie A is Paul
Pogba, who is not too bothered by life at Juventus after realising
nobody else can put up a fight on the Playstation since Andrea Pirlo
departed. His signature will cost only €100m, mind!

The
same cannot be said for the Belgium international Dries Mertens – he
will not be moving to Southampton and is about to sign a new Napoli
contract.  West Ham are set to bolster their squad again in January
because David Sullivan reckons Slaven Bilic’s team can not only reach
the Champions League but retain a slim hope of doing the Double. “At the
start of the season we were in four competitions and the aim was to win
those four,” he told the club website. “Now we’re down to two – we’ve
got the big Double left – and it’s very, very unlikely but not
impossible.” But they will certainly not be re-signing Kevin Nolan, who
is off to Rangers to face off against Carlton Cole in a battle of former
Hammers.
