Is Nigeria truely committed to peace in Africa as said by Buhari?

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday affirmed that Nigeria under
his leadership would remain at the forefront of efforts aimed at
achieving enduring peace, security and progress across the continent of
African.Disclosing this in a statement signed by his Senior
Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari
made the pledge while receiving special envoys of President Pierre
Nkurunziza of Burundi at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According
to the statement, the envoys, Maj.-Gen. Evariste Ndayishimiye and
Ambassador Dieudonne Kwizera, briefed President Buhari on recent
political developments in Burundi.
   President Buhari noted that Nigeria would continue to support all efforts aimed
at achieving political stability in Africa because whatever happens
elsewhere in the continent affects Nigeria directly or indirectly.
“President
Buhari declared that African leaders must all do their best to achieve
greater peace, political stability and security within their countries
so that they can give more attention to the urgent task of improving the
living conditions of their people,” the statement added.
The
President also expressed hope that all warring factions in Burundi
should resolve their differences peacefully and learn to work together.
